En varias de las fotos, se ve a varios especialistas quitándole al canino una pelusa que cubría la mayoría del cuerpo y que pesaba alrededor de 9 libras.
De acuerdo con la fundación, también tenía uñas de más de 15 centímetros, artritis y sus músculos estaban atrofiados por no usar sus extremidades.
Además, los veterinarios tuvieron que operarle una hernia y hacerle trabajo dental.
El procedimiento para salvar a Ellie Mae, como fue nombrada la perra por la fundación, fue complejo y duró aproximadamente 9 horas.
Según la fundación, Ellie fue hallada por un grupo de limpieza que había llegado a una casa para hacer labores de aseo. Al parecer, su dueño falleció hace varios meses.
Luego de 2 semanas de recuperación, la fundación publicó un video en el que se ve a Ellie recupera y con un mejor aspecto.
