Con dos enormes manos, escultor envía mensaje sobre cambio climático en Venecia

Se trata de Lorenzo Quinn, artista italiano, reconocido por incluir partes del cuerpo humano en sus obras.

Gracias a su nuevo proyecto llamado ‘Support’, Quinn instaló dos manos enormes emergiendo del canal de Venecia. La escultura parece estar soportando las paredes del hotel Ca’ Sagredo, reportó Boredpanda.

Yes!…so happy to say mission accomplished. SUPPORT in Venice to support this wonder of city that is threatened by climate change. I hope my art brings a new focus of attention to a global calamity that we are faced with. El escultor desea generar conciencia sobre el calentamiento global que ya da muestras de las tragedias naturales que puede causar. Además, Quinn quiere que los habitantes cuiden la Venecia inspiradora.

Venecia es una ciudad de arte flotante que ha inspirado a culturas durante siglos. Pero para continuar haciéndolo necesita el apoyo de nuestra generación y de las futuras, porque está amenazada por el cambio climático y el deterioro del tiempo”, dijo el artista a Halcyon Gallery.

Escogió las manos para enviar este mensaje porque considera que estas tienen el domino de todo. “La mano contiene mucho poder: para amar, odiar, crear, destruir”, concluyó Quinn.
